Healthy Dog Treats
Are Absolutely Necessary
by Keith Somers / Like Dog Wonders on Facebook
Few things bring more enjoyment to your dog than the reward of healthy dog treats. The very act of giving a treat helps to strengthen the bond that we share with our companion animals.
We want your companion animals to enjoy the best life has to offer!
Unfortunately, many of the dog treats available on the market today are non-nutritive “junk treats”, that could be harmful to your dog’s long-term health. Look at your current Ingredient Label—none of the following should be on the list, not one:
- NO wheat, or wheat gluten
- NO corn, or corn gluten
- NO soy or soy gluten
- NO artificial colors
- NO artificial flavors
- NO chemical preservatives
- NO meat meal or bone meal
- NO animal fat
- NO sugars
- NO animal by-products
Treats should be packed with wholesome premium nutrients such as:
- apples
- peanut butter
- honey
- oatmeal
- stabilized rice bran
- brown rice
- ground flax seed
- flax seed oil
- rolled oats
- dried whole eggs
- cranberries
- carrots
- vitamin A, E, C, and beta-carotene
- calcium
- phosphorous
- L-Carnitine
- high quality protein
- Omega 3 fatty acids
For the most part your pet eats the same food every day. With some variation between dry or wet food, treats and supplements, it is crucial that a right choice in each of these products be made. Your dog or cat’s long-term health, happiness and life is at stake!
